Jackman Flats
This desert-like ecological area has 12 kilometres of classic groomed cross-country trails and views of the Caribou and Rocky Mountains. Look for a map at the trailhead. Open mid-Dec. to late-Feb. 15 min. north of town on Highway 5, look for signs. For info call the Yellowhead Outdoor Recreation Association.

Camp Creek
Stretch your legs along 10 kilometres of classic groomed trails. Shelter with wood stove, no trail use fee. Open mid-Dec. to mid-Mar. 10 min. south of Valemount, turn off Highway 5 at the blue cross country signs onto a plowed road. For info, call the Yellowhead Outdoor Recreation Association.
